The Responsibilities of the Aeromedical Service are as follows:
- Participating in the medical certification and the continuous supervision of medical examinations, as well as the issuance of medical certificates/reports conducted by aeromedical examiners;
- Contributing to the drafting of regulatory acts and corresponding amendments within its area of competence;
- Conducting medical assessments of applicants following the transfer of medical data to the authority from AME, for the issuance of a medical certificate with one or more operational limitations, as applicable;
- Providing assistance in supervising human factors aspects in civil aviation;
- Monitoring compliance with requirements related to ensuring the health of air passengers;
- Collaborating with national and international organizations and institutions, as well as with the aeromedical departments of aviation authorities from other states, within its areas of competence and assigned responsibilities.
