During the training sessions, the following topics were thoroughly analyzed:
Assessment of standards regarding fuel consumption records and emission volumes;
Verification and auditing of data reported by operators;
Correct application of calculation formulas;
Preparation and presentation of centralized reports to ICAO;
Recent updates to the international regulatory framework regarding CORSIA.
The training was attended by specialists from the Economic Supervision and Financial Management Directorate of the AAC, in accordance with the functional responsibilities and international commitments assumed by the Republic of Moldova.
Participation in this specialized course represents an important step in strengthening the AAC’s capacity to correctly implement and apply the provisions of Government Decision no. 259/2024 "regarding the establishment and operation of the Carbon Offset and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA)."
This activity is part of the ongoing efforts of the AAC to align with European standards and actively contribute to the global goal of gradually reducing carbon emissions from the aviation sector, aiming to achieve “net zero” emissions by 2050.
