Diplomatic Conference ECAC 2025

Between 20–22 May 2025, the Director of the Civil Aviation Authority, Vasile Șaramet, participated in the Diplomatic Conference of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), held in Paris and hosted by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. The event brought together 30 delegations from ECAC member states.

The main goal of the conference was to negotiate the text of the Convention establishing the ECAC Office – an administrative structure designed to provide operational support for the implementation of decisions adopted within ECAC, an organization founded in 1955, to which the Republic of Moldova joined in 1996.

After three days of intense negotiations, twenty-seven member states, including the Republic of Moldova, signed the Final Act, thus initialing the Convention text and successfully concluding a lengthy consultation process.

The official signing of the Convention by all member states will take place in August 2025, during the 74th special meeting of civil aviation directors general, to be held in Bern, Switzerland.

Through this participation, the Republic of Moldova reaffirms its strong commitment to the European integration process in civil aviation and to strengthening international cooperation within ECAC.
