The Civil Aviation Authority hosts the European Commission’s assessment mission on the implementation of the Common Aviation Area Agreement

Between 12–16 May 2025, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of the Republic of Moldova will host an assessment visit regarding the implementation of the Common Aviation Area Agreement, carried out under the coordination of the European Commission.
The mission has the nature of an audit, in the context of aligning and harmonizing national legislation with the EU acquis, in accordance with the provisions of Annexes II and III of the Agreement.
The assessment will cover key areas such as aviation safety and security, as well as related aspects including environmental protection, occupational safety, fair competition, market access, consumer protection, and social standards.
During the mission, experts from the European Commission will hold meetings with key state institutions: the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, the Public Property Agency, as well as with air operators.
This assessment represents an important step in the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova in the field of civil aviation, with the ultimate goal of creating a common aviation area that provides benefits to both operators and passengers.
