The official launch of the works on the "Bridge of Flowers" over the Prut – a historic construction that will begin simultaneously in the Republic of Moldova and Romania.
On Saturday, April 26, 2025, the inauguration of the construction works for the first road bridge built over the Prut in the last six decades – the Ungheni Bridge – took place during the symbolic event called the "Bridge of Flowers" Festival.
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea, the Secretary of State from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Romania, Irinel Ionel Scrioșteanu, officials from Chișinău, Bucharest, and Brussels, local authorities, as well as many citizens from both sides of the Prut.
The festive atmosphere was enhanced by the spectacular performances of the Romanian Aeroclub, which delighted the audience with impressive aerial acrobatics, symbolizing the unity and closeness between the two countries.
