Directors General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Meeting, Paris
Over 100 aviation leaders from 50 countries, including four partner states – Canada, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States – gathered in Paris on June 17 for the Directors General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) meeting, organized by the ICAO EUR/NAT Office.
Held under the theme “Advancing Aviation through People and Partnerships,” the meeting highlighted the importance of human capital and international cooperation in shaping the future of global aviation.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Republic of Moldova is participating in this strategic forum alongside representatives from 54 countries in the region and relevant international and regional organizations.
The meeting is attended at the highest level, with keynote participants including:
Juan Carlos Salazar, ICAO Secretary General
Salvatore Sciacchitano, President of the ICAO Council
Key organizations: EASA, ECAC, EUROCONTROL, IAC, CANSO, and others.
A key point on the agenda was the review and approval of European position papers to be presented at the 42nd ICAO Assembly, scheduled to take place in Montréal from 23 September to 3 October 2025. These documents will reflect the region’s shared priorities and vision in the global civil aviation context.

Coordinated crisis response
Strategic workforce planning and professional training
Promoting gender equality in aviation
Finalizing and implementing long-term emissions reduction goals (LTAG)
Harmonization and implementation of ICAO standards across the region.
Through its participation, the Republic of Moldova reaffirms its commitment to a safe, sustainable, and internationally aligned aviation sector.
